Reports To: General Manager
Role Overview
The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the company’s sales strategy and driving business growth in Uganda’s agro-processing sector. This role involves managing a sales team, expanding market presence, and maintaining key client relationships to achieve revenue targets.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue goals, with a focus on B2B clients.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate the sales team—including recruitment, training, and performance management.
Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as farmers’ cooperatives, buyers, and distribution partners.
Monitor market trends and identify new opportunities for product growth and diversification across Uganda’s agro-ecological zones.
Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and CRM updates to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with processing, operations, and finance teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment and high customer satisfaction.
Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and client meetings across Uganda.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in sales and marketing, preferably within agro-processing, agribusiness, manufacturing, or distribution industries.
Education: Diploma or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field. Additional certifications in sales management are an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Demonstrated success in achieving sales growth and meeting performance targets.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English; proficiency in Luganda or other local languages is an asset.
