Job Description
Our client is looking for a sales manager for their flexible packaging business (biscuit packaging, chips bags, rice and milk bag, etc…). The position will be based in Kampala, Uganda. The ideal candidate must have experience in the printing and packaging industry; in particular, the production of flexible packaging from various raw materials (MLLDPE, LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, BOPP, etc). The ideal candidate must also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Achieve the sales & profitability targets as per the annual budget.
Continuous Process Improvement
Maintain the strong reputation of the firm with clients.
Develop department specific marketing collateral & campaigns.
Manage flexible packaging sales & marketing team and related administrative tasks.
Ensure security of assets directly allocated to flexible packaging sales & marketing team.
Induction process & recruitment, and dismissal for direct reports (for local and expat staff alike, within MOA).
Ensure a safe, collaborative, and professional workspace, that is in line with Company values.
Staff productivity analysis
Record keeping (sample approvals, contracts, etc)
QMS/Environmental audit participation
Coordinate with production team to ensure orders are delivered as per client requirements.
Update procurement & stores team of any major changes in client requirements that may affect raw material planning (either an expected increase or decrease in volume requirements)

Requirements and Experiences
Minimum 10 years of experience in the printing & packaging field, with minimum 5 years in a
management position directly responsible for sales & marketing and production
Minimum 5 years’ experience of managing a sales & marketing team of at least 3 individuals.
Exposure to several technologies including: gravure, laminators, PVC shrink extrusion, LDPE extrusion.
Serving at least 50 industrial clients in various sectors with small run (< 50,000 pcs) and long run
( < 3,000,000 pcs) jobs
Managing sales of at least 2,500,000USD per annum
Education Qualifications
MA/MSc in Sales & Marketing or Management (preferred)
BA/BSc in Sales & Marketing, Management or Accounting & Finance
Engineer in Printing Technology
Fluency in English; both spoken and written
