Job Description

The Sales Manager – Corporate plays a pivotal role in expanding Fairmont The Norfolk’s corporate and group business portfolio. The position involves coordinating with multiple teams to execute sales plans, managing key accounts, and leading initiatives that enhance customer engagement and maximize profitability. The manager will participate in revenue management discussions, contribute to strategic planning, and lead sales projects aligned with the hotel’s growth objectives. The role requires a proactive, energetic, and highly motivated professional with excellent negotiation, presentation, and client relationship skills.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of a renewed luxury guest experience across all corporate and group business segments.

  • Manage and grow sales across Corporate, Group, Government, Incentive, Convention, and Meeting markets.

  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage marketing team to develop promotional sales initiatives.

  • Participate in Revenue Management meetings to ensure maximum yield and profitability.

  • Support the development of the hotel’s strategic sales plan and ensure alignment across all departments.

  • Lead, motivate, and train the sales team to achieve business targets and maintain operational excellence.

  • Maintain open communication with the General Manager, Global Sales Offices, and Regional Corporate Teams.

  • Build and sustain long-term client relationships through regular engagement and entertainment activities.

  • Oversee the preparation and management of sales reports, action plans, and performance analyses.

  • Monitor key accounts and ensure accuracy and integrity in client database management.

  • Set and review Room Revenue/Night quotas for team members and provide guidance on achieving goals.

  • Identify market trends, competitive insights, and emerging opportunities to enhance hotel positioning.

  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and participate in the management of the Sales Incentive Program.

  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Cluster Director of Sales or General Manager.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business, or Sales & Marketing; a Hotel Management qualification is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in luxury or upscale brands.

  • Proven experience in corporate, government, and group sales management.

  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan hospitality market and experience in both city and resort sales.

  • Previous international market exposure is an asset.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and planning abilities.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.

  • Energetic, results-driven, and passionate about sales and hospitality.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and clients from different cultures.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications; knowledge of Opera or other CRM systems is an advantage.

  • Valid driver’s license required.
