Kyambogo University (KYU) was established with the main aim of promoting and advancing knowledge and development of skills in Science, Technology and Education and such other fields having regards for quality, equity, progress and transformation of society.
The University that now sits on Banda Hill is one of Uganda’s largest public Universities established by the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 and the Universities and Other Tertiary institutions (Establishment of Kyambogo University) instruments of 2003. It is a merger of the former Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo (UPK), the Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo (ITEK), and the Uganda National Institute of Special Education (UNISE).
SENIOR LECTURER (Literature or Literary Linguistics or English)
Kyambogo University
To teach undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University through well-researched and prepared lectures; maintain academic and professional excellence through research and dissemination of research findings; and Contribute to the University and wider society through community service.
1. To prepare well-researched lectures and deliver them to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
2. To set tests, examinations and coursework in accordance with University policy and regulations.
3. Toadministerandinvigilatetestsandexaminations according to University policy and regulations.
4. To mark tests, course works and examination scripts, compiling and grading examination results in accordance with University policy and regulations.
5. To guide and advise students on their academic performance.
6. Toconductresearchanddisseminate researchfindings through conferences, seminars and publications.
7. To supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking research projects.
8. To conduct seminars and tutorials.
9. To carry out administrative duties in the department as directed by the Head of Department.

(a)Well researched Lectures prepared and delivered.
(b)Researchconductedandresearchfindingsdisseminatedthrough conferences, seminars and publications.
(c)Students undertaking research supervised.
(d)Seminars conducted.

(a) Should have a PhD in relevant Discipline (reflected under the specialization m Table 1 University / Institution. above) from a recognized awarding University / Institution
(b) Must have published at least three (3) articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals or at least three (3) book chapters or one (1) book with an ISBN Number since the last promotion.
(c) Must be the principal or first author of at least one (1) article.
(d) Must be one of the first five co-authors for the other two (2) articles
(e) Three (3) journal articles or book chapters submitted shall be vetted.
(f) Should have supervised at least one ( 1) graduate student to completion since the last promotion/appointment to the rank of Lecturer.
(g) Should have contributed to community service.

b)Certified copies of academic and professional qualifications, letters of appointment and promotion.
c)Names and addresses of three referees who should be advised to send reference letters directly to the Chief Human Resources under confidential cover.
