Job Description
The role involves preparing and maintaining roller mill equipment to achieve optimal performance and reduce machine downtime. The Clerk will conduct inspections, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, eliminate air/material leakages, and keep detailed records of roll activities. Additionally, the role demands adherence to health and safety standards and the ability to fabricate machine parts when necessary.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare daily reports on roll changes and mill operations.
Conduct regular machinery inspections to detect and fix faults proactively.
Eliminate leakages to boost roller mill efficiency.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety protocols.
Fabricate parts for repairs and maintenance activities.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of roller mills.
Carry out all roll preparation and handling tasks safely and hygienically.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine breakdowns swiftly.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
5 O’ Level credits including English and Mathematics (maximum of two sittings).
NABTEB or Trade Test I–III certifications are an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar mechanical or mill-related role.
Key Competencies:
Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and safety consciousness.
