Risk Officer job at Movit Group Limited

Job Description

The main objective of this role is to lead the deployment of the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management program and ensure all stakeholders of Movit Products Limited Including Management, Employees, Customers, Suppliers, comply with relevant rules and regulations.
The Risk Officer will support in overseeing risk assessments and mitigations across all MPL functions. The role ensures there is a comprehensive, coordinated, and consistent quality in the process to report on key risks and implementation of risk management strategy and influence change to strengthen organization wide accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Outputs/Activities per key performance area:

  • Stays abreast with the emerging trends and developments in risk management to improve implementation of risk programs.

  • Conducts monthly risk assessments across the business to ensure effective implementation of risk treatment plans.

  • The incumbent will implement the risk management strategy.

  • Ensure risks are captured and maintained within the Risk Management Information system.

  • Support the Project Manager to implement risk management to all investment projects at all phases to enhance shareholder value.

  • Coordinate and manage insurance information within area of responsibility.


  • Support the business to imbed a risk aware culture.

  • Assist in coordinating changes to Risk Management Framework and Risk Control Profile Register.

  • Provide assistance in reviewing Risk Appetite Statements for MPL.

  • Implement incident monitoring process to ensure business are improving controls around reported risk events.

  • Follow up with business on action plans for outstanding audit issues.

  • Support the Risk Manager to develop and execute Risk based Internal Audit Plan. Update this Plan on quarterly basis and share with the Risk Manager.

  • Examine, review, and assess risk management, and control processes and provide innovative best practices to make improvements.


Financial Management

  • Support The development of the enterprise risk management budget as per the set guidelines

  • Monitor the execution of risk management activities within the approved budget.

  • Risk Management

  • Assesses business risks and defines risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on business performance and reputation.

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating risk exposures to governance, operations, and information systems.

  • Support the integration of risk management in the operational planning and decision-making processes.

  • Support department heads in maintaining and updating the organization’s Risk Register as an active risk management tool.

  • Support department heads in developing risk monitoring plan and track implementation of the plan.

  • Support in strengthening capacity building of staff on risk management (e.g. fraud risk assessment and mitigation), best internal control practices, standards, and governance and NIC Insurance policies.

  • Prepare risk dashboard / report to be presented to management and the Board Risk Committee monthly and quarterly respectively.


Compliance

  • Adherence to all Movit Group Policies and procedures.

  • Manage oversight of incident management process and ensure that business is reporting significant risk event to Risk and Compliance Unit. Implement incident monitoring process to ensure business are improving controls around reported risk events.

  • Coordinate with the Compliance team to ensure adherence with the Fraud Management Plan.

  • Assist in coordinating responses to compliance and performance audits that are conducted by external auditors of MPL.

Qualifications and Competencies

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Related Minimum Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, accounting, economics, insurance, business administration or related discipline from a recognized University.

  • Possess additional certification in Risk management or finance or Insurance is a must.

  • Computer literacy skills

  • Good report writing skills, analytical skills, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team.

  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in Risk or similar role in an Industrial/Manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
