Job Description
This role leads NBC's business development and operations in the mining industry. The Relationship Manager will:
Develop new business and maintain existing relationships in the mining sector.
Oversee client onboarding, credit assessments, and service delivery.
Ensure compliance with internal banking policies and regulatory standards.
Collaborate across departments including credit, marketing, and operations.
Monitor and manage client portfolios and provide strategic financial advice.
Actively engage in risk management and drive the bank’s visibility and credibility within the mining community.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Sales and Service (65%)
Grow portfolio through cross-selling/up-selling financial products.
Identify and convert sales opportunities within client portfolios.
Deliver client satisfaction through consistent service and solutions.
Maintain client contact plans and handle feedback and complaints.
Conduct client reviews and portfolio assessments.
Business Development (30%)
Identify new mining sector clients and expand client base.
Work with marketing teams to tailor products to mining clients.
Gather and assess information for credit applications.
Promote cross-functional collaboration and lead generation.
Risk Management (5%)
Ensure risk compliance across lending and investment activities.
Collaborate with credit and risk teams to mitigate portfolio risks.
Adhere to internal risk management guidelines and policies.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in banking or financial services with a mining sector focus.
Proven experience in client relationship management and business development.
Technical Skills:
Strong grasp of mining industry dynamics and investment banking principles.
Skilled in financial modelling, credit analysis, and risk evaluation.
Competencies:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commercial mindset with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
