Job Description
The Regulatory Officer will be tasked with ensuring that the company meets all regulatory requirements related to marine operations. This includes managing and overseeing all documentation, certifications, and authorization processes, ensuring full compliance with procedures and regulations set by relevant authorities. The role will also involve coordinating and following up on the vessels' survey and audit schedules. Additionally, the officer will maintain a corrective action register for marine-related audits and inspections and track the progress of required actions. Monitoring Flag State Control (NIMASA) on vessel survey and audit results will also be a critical part of the role.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure strict compliance with all authorities’ requirements concerning documentation, certifications, authorizations, and regulations.
Coordinate and follow up on the vessels' survey and audit schedule.
Maintain and update the corrective action register for all marine-related audits and inspections, ensuring follow-up on any required actions.
Monitor Flag State Control (NIMASA) results related to vessel surveys and audits.
Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure all certifications and documentation are up to date and meet required standards.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
BSc/HND in Nautical Science, Maritime Management, or a related field.
Officer of the Watch (OOW) STCW ISM Awareness Certification.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the marine or maritime industry.
Onboard Tanker Ship Deck Officer experience is an added advantage.
Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of crew and vessel certifications required (STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, MLC, ISPS, DPR, NPA, Flag State, and Classification Society).
Strong understanding of Marine Operations Risk Assessment and Management.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
