Job Description

Job Title: Regional Sales Manager – Uganda

Direct Reports: Territory Sales Managers

Job Purpose

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth in their assigned region by aligning the sales team to achieve unit volume, budget, and collection targets. This role requires strategic leadership, operational excellence, and effective team management to ensure sustainable business growth.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead market initiatives to establish and strengthen retail execution, trade relationships, and brand portfolios.

  • Ensure the sales team consistently wins at the Point of Sale (POS) through strong trade marketing and relationship management.

  • Develop and implement tactical sales strategies, business plans, programs, and budgets for the region.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff through performance management, field accompaniment, and capacity-building initiatives.

  • Optimize the route-to-market by implementing best practices in sales and distribution, including management of third-party partners.

  • Represent the company as the primary regional liaison.

  • Onboard quality customers and maintain delinquency below 20% to achieve collection targets.

  • Ensure proper inventory and stock management at all locations within the region.

  • Review and assess new customer onboarding to maintain portfolio health and payment quality.

  • Evaluate high-risk accounts and analyze payment patterns to enforce compliance with risk and quality sales processes, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field from a reputable university.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high-growth sales environment.

  • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets while building strategic partnerships.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to create win-win outcomes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills.

  • Willingness to spend an average of 4 days per week in the field.

  • Valid Ugandan driving license.

  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Passion for social enterprise, people development, and environmental sustainability.
