Job Description
In this role, the Real Estate Acquisition Associate will drive the company’s growth by identifying potential multifamily property partners, developing strategic business plans, and securing new apartment units for Blueground’s portfolio. The associate will conduct thorough market research, build relationships with developers, investors, and property managers, and effectively communicate Blueground’s value proposition. They will also lead contract negotiations to finalize lease agreements and ensure acquisitions align with company policies and growth strategies.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a strong understanding of the multifamily and commercial real estate landscape, with the ability to work independently and contribute meaningfully to a high-performing team.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Research and identify qualified multifamily real estate owners and operators
Develop and implement a local business development strategy
Network with developers, investors, and management firms to generate leads
Pitch Blueground’s value as a partner to prospective real estate stakeholders
Negotiate lease agreements aligned with company procedures and standards
Analyze market trends and performance metrics to inform acquisition decisions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new units
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field
At least 1 year of experience in multifamily or commercial real estate
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to think quickly and negotiate effectively
Self-driven, with a proactive mindset and the ability to work on a small, fast-moving team
Preferred:
Experience in deal-making and lease negotiation
Familiarity with the U.S. multifamily property market
