Job Description
The Project Officer for the Climate Asset Management project will be responsible for managing the project’s implementation, ensuring all targets and outputs are delivered on time and within budget. This includes overseeing activities related to landscape restoration and climate-resilient value chain development for improved livelihoods. The Project Officer will collaborate with community stakeholders, ensure capacity building, facilitate effective communication, and ensure the sustainability of project activities. The role also involves detailed monitoring, documentation, and reporting on project progress, including sharing impact stories and best practices.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of project components, ensuring that activities are on schedule and within budget.
Work with stakeholders to build capacity for technical implementation of the project.
Identify and address technical gaps in the community, planning accordingly for effective project execution.
Prepare and submit timely updates and reports for periodic review meetings.
Research best practices and propose new strategies for improved project outcomes.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with government, non-government organizations, and private sector stakeholders.
Participate in inter-agency meetings and review progress with stakeholders.
Facilitate the integration of project activities with other World Vision programs and government initiatives.
Coordinate joint monitoring and evaluations of project activities.
Document project successes, lessons learned, and best practices for dissemination.
Ensure adherence to child protection policies and promote the wellbeing of children in the project area.
Address gender and social inclusion issues, ensuring project activities are inclusive and align with World Vision’s policies.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in field-based project management, especially in natural resources, environment, and food security.
Experience with International NGOs or local government projects.
Knowledge in climate change mitigation and adaptation, value chain development, and financial inclusion.
Familiarity with relevant policies such as forest policy, environmental policy, and climate change policy.
Strong skills in project design, monitoring, and evaluation.
Experience working on policy advocacy and collaborating with local governments and communities.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
Proactive, self-driven, and highly motivated personality.
Must be a committed Christian, willing to participate in World Vision’s spiritual activities.
Proficient in English and at least one local language.
A valid motorcycle riding license and the ability to ride a motorcycle (XL Honda) is a must.
