Job Description
HOPE SHARING FAMILYASSOCIATION (HOSFA) - is a not-for-profit organization established in 1993 with a mission of contributing to a process where the deprived have access to basic human needs and promote self sustenance. It mainly operates in Mityana District with its Headquarters in Mityana Municipality. It provides Health services at St. Francis Community Health Center IV - Mityana Town, Skills Training at St.Thereza Vocational Training Institute- Zigoti, and secondary Education at St Thereza Secondary School-Zigoti. HOSFA is seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated, result oriented professionals to fill the position below on a full time basis at St.Thereza Vocational Training Institute- Zigoti.
Duties and Responsibilities
Educational Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and direction to the school community, including teachers, staff, students, and parents, to promote academic excellence, student achievement, and overall school improvement.
Administrative Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the school, including budget management, facility maintenance, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation. Ensure compliance with school policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
Instructional Leadership: Foster a culture of teaching and learning excellence by supporting and evaluating instructional practices, curriculum development, and assessment strategies. Promote innovative teaching methods, technology integration, and professional development opportunities for faculty.
Student Discipline and Behavior Management: Establish and enforce a safe, orderly, and supportive learning environment conducive to student success. Implement and monitor school discipline policies, student conduct codes, and behavior intervention strategies. Address student conduct issues and disciplinary matters promptly and fairly.
Staff Supervision and Development: Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate teaching and administrative staff. Provide guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to support staff growth and effectiveness. Foster a collaborative and inclusive school culture that values diversity and teamwork.
Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with parents, guardians, community members, and external stakeholders to promote school-community partnerships, parent involvement, and student support services. Communicate regularly with stakeholders through newsletters, meetings, events, and outreach efforts.
Curriculum Development and Assessment: Collaborate with teachers, curriculum specialists, and educational leaders to develop and implement rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and instructional programs. Monitor and assess student progress, academic performance, and achievement outcomes.
Student Support Services: Coordinate and oversee student support services, including counseling, special education, English language learners, gifted and talented programs, and other student services. Ensure equitable access to educational opportunities and resources for all students.
Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage the school budget, allocate resources effectively, and monitor expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability. Seek additional funding sources and grants to support school initiatives and programs.
School Improvement Planning: Lead the school improvement planning process, including needs assessment, goal setting, action planning, and progress monitoring. Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to address school improvement priorities and enhance student outcomes.
Crisis Management and Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, safety protocols, and crisis management procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors during emergencies, natural disasters, or security threats.
Professional Development and Training: Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with educational trends, best practices, and research-based strategies. Provide leadership in professional learning communities, workshops, and conferences.
Public Relations and Communication: Serve as the spokesperson and advocate for the school within the community and media. Promote the achievements, programs, and successes of the school through public relations efforts, social media, and community outreach activities.
Data Analysis and Decision Making: Analyze school data, assessment results, and performance metrics to inform decision-making, resource allocation, and instructional planning. Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and track progress towards school goals.
Legal and Ethical Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local education laws, regulations, and policies. Uphold ethical standards and professional conduct in all aspects of school leadership and administration.
Qualifications and Competencies
A Bachelor degree in any Engineering related courses and a Certificate in Teacher Technical Education. Must be registered with Ministry of Education and Sports.
Any management course and an advanced certificate in technical education will be an added advantage with at least a 3 years' teaching experience in a recognized technical institute, must be a computer Literate
