Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for advising and managing non-traditional assets for both institutional and individual clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for advising and managing non-traditional assets for both institutional and individual clients through investment research, portfolio construction, re-weighting recommendations, and investment monitoring.
Manage and oversee the alternative investment portfolio to ensure alignment with the overall investment strategy and objectives of Old Mutual Investment Group
Work closely as part of a multi-disciplinary team in developing market views and thematic investment ideas through regular investment discussions with the team on current investment market
Conduct rigorous analysis and due diligence on potential alternative investment opportunities and managers
Liaise and lead in the Old Mutual Uganda’s collaborative efforts with an aim of enhancing the alternative investments value proposition
Part of an investment committee that appraises recommendations from the Research department before adoption as part of long-term investment strategy.
Oversee and ensure the smooth implementation of Investment Committee recommendations to achieve out-performance against agreed benchmarks.
Coordinate due diligence and selection processes both in terms of breadth and investment quality, with the overall aim of providing best in class investment products to our clients
Be involved in evaluating post-investment monitoring of portfolio performance to ensure consistency across clients with alternative investment mandates.
Ensure compliance of Alternative Investment portfolios to mitigate risk.
Enhance product development within the alternative investments’ asset class
Champion alternative investments knowledge transfer to the investment team and create investor awareness
Participate in capital raising activities and capital deployment including due diligence, selection, and investments
Be involved in scouting for exit opportunities and thereafter distribute returns to investors
Develop an alternative investments network of partners and stakeholders including third party managers, co-investors, technical, tax and legal advisory institutions etc.
