The Secretary, District Service Commission Apac informs the general staff that, Applications are invited from suitable and eligible serving officers for the post which exist in the department as specified below:
Applications should be filled in triplicate on PSC Form 3 Revised (2008) and submitted to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 1 Apac to be received not later than 23rd February 2023.

While formal education requirements for porters are often minimal, candidates may need to demonstrate physical fitness, reliability, and a willingness to learn on the job. Additionally, specific industries or employers may have additional requirements or preferences based on the nature of the work and the environment in which it is performed.
Load and Unload: Assist with loading and unloading goods, luggage, or equipment onto and off of vehicles, ships, trains, or aircraft. Follow proper lifting techniques and safety protocols to prevent injuries and damage to goods.
Transportation: Transport goods or luggage between different locations within a facility, such as airports, train stations, hotels, hospitals, or warehouses. Use hand trucks, carts, or other handling equipment as necessary.
Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory, count items, and verify shipments to ensure accuracy and completeness. Record discrepancies, damaged items, or missing inventory for reporting and reconciliation purposes.
Customer Service: Provide courteous and helpful assistance to customers, passengers, or clients. Answer questions, provide directions, and offer assistance with baggage or belongings as needed.
Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure working environment by adhering to safety regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and following security protocols. Report any safety hazards or security concerns to supervisors or authorities.
Communication: Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate tasks, prioritize work assignments, and address operational needs. Use radios, phones, or other communication devices as necessary.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and organized, including loading docks, storage areas, and equipment. Perform routine maintenance tasks on handling equipment and report any malfunctions or damage for repair.
Documentation: Complete paperwork, documentation, or electronic records related to inventory, shipments, or work activities. Ensure accuracy and completeness of records for record-keeping and tracking purposes.

Manual Dexterity: Demonstrate proficiency in using hand tools, handling equipment, and operating machinery relevant to the job. Ability to manipulate objects, secure loads, and perform tasks requiring precision and coordination.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations, procedures, and best practices for handling and transporting goods. Ability to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and take appropriate precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal communication skills to interact with coworkers, supervisors, and customers. Ability to follow instructions, relay information accurately, and respond promptly to inquiries or requests.
Teamwork: Collaboration and cooperation with team members to achieve common goals and objectives. Willingness to assist others, share workload, and contribute to a positive work environment.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail in performing tasks such as counting inventory, checking shipments, and completing documentation. Ability to identify discrepancies, errors, or irregularities and take corrective actions.
Flexibility: Adaptability to work in dynamic environments with changing priorities, schedules, and work assignments. Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Customer Service Skills: Basic customer service skills to interact courteously with clients, passengers, or customers. Ability to address inquiries, provide assistance, and handle complaints or concerns professionally.
