Job Description
The Planning Forester will report to the GIS and Monitoring Manager and will be responsible for conducting spatial assessments, operational planning, and field monitoring. Key duties include analyzing land suitability, supporting carbon project development, ensuring accurate data collection, and integrating field-level activities with the company’s Annual Operation Plans (AOP). The ideal candidate must possess strong GIS skills, field monitoring experience, and a commitment to climate restoration and sustainability. This is a full-time position with opportunities to impact reforestation and nature-based climate solutions.

How to Apply
Lead site assessments and land-use suitability analysis for compartment planning
Develop and maintain compartment registers and GIS dashboards
Integrate field data into spatial planning through collaboration with ground teams
Contribute to baseline assessments and biomass stock estimation
Maintain Permanent Sample Plots (PSPs) and conduct biomass monitoring
Ensure SOP adherence in field and nursery operations
Conduct weekly quality control checks and lead reporting of operational data
Support implementation of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) protocols
Ensure field data integrity and support compliance audits
Collaborate with nursery and field teams to improve performance based on monitoring results
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Environmental Studies, or Natural Resource Management
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
Proficient in GIS tools including ArcGIS, Survey123, ArcGIS Field Maps, and Quick Capture
Experience in reforestation, agroforestry, or carbon removal projects
Strong background in spatial planning and land-use design
Desirable Attributes:
Familiarity with carbon project standards and methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Passion for environmental restoration and climate action
Effective communication skills across cultures and disciplines
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in diverse teams
