Job Description
This is a contract, fully remote role designed for actively practicing psychiatrists. As a Physician Reviewer, you will review medical records and evaluate the necessity of psychiatric treatments according to New York Workers’ Compensation guidelines and national criteria. There is no direct patient interaction involved. The position allows for flexible scheduling, pays a flat rate per case, and offers a consistent source of supplemental income. Dane Street provides a structured onboarding process and continuous support throughout your engagement.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Review psychiatric medical records for treatment requests and appeals
Evaluate medical necessity using applicable guidelines and criteria
Submit clear, concise, evidence-based reports
Meet review deadlines (typically 1–5 business days)
Participate in peer-to-peer calls as necessary
Provide addenda when additional information becomes available

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Board Certification in Psychiatry
Active, unrestricted medical license in New York
Workers’ Compensation Board Certification (New York)
Active clinical practice
Strong analytical and writing skills
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Experience in utilization or peer review is an added advantage
