Job Description
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the full payroll function, ensuring salaries and benefits are processed accurately and on time. The role requires strong expertise in Sage 300 People Payroll software and a solid understanding of South African labour and tax legislation. The Payroll Administrator will also handle reconciliations of statutory deductions, prepare submissions (EMP201, EMP501), resolve SARS queries, and provide reports to management. Additionally, the role will support HR with payroll-related compliance, employee benefits, and year-end processing.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Administer the full payroll function for multiple entities.
Ensure accurate payroll reporting for statutory and management purposes.
Perform reconciliations of PAYE, SDL, UIF, WCA, and RMA.
Prepare and submit EMP201 and EMP501 returns and manage SARS queries.
Handle month-end reconciliations, consolidations, and bonus schedules.
Assist with GL allocations, provisions, and financial year-end reconciliations.
Provide guidance on remuneration, benefits, and payroll-linked matters.
Support HR with compliance, bursary processing, and employee benefit administration.
Prepare payroll-related management reports and summaries.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification and/or payroll-related certification essential.
5–8 years’ payroll experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
In-depth knowledge of Sage 300 People Payroll software (including ESS).
Advanced payroll tax knowledge (monthly, bi-annual, and annual submissions).
Solid understanding of labour legislation, tax laws, and bargaining council requirements.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel essential).
SAP accounting software experience is an advantage.
Must reside in the West Rand or surrounding areas.
