The German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has commissioned the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with the Programme "Strengthening Governance and Civil Society in Uganda III" which is co-funded by the European Union. The main objective of the programme is that relevant state and non-state actors better fulfil their respective roles in terms of accountability, the implementation of good governance principles and the realization of human rights.
GIZ is recruiting an Organisational Development Advisor to support in the implementation of its Programme.
Duty Station: Mbarara with frequent travels to Kampala
Contract Duration: Ref No: Until December 2024 GIZ-CUSP II/ODA/0724024

Supporting civil society in the areas of organisational development, e.g. on topics like evidence-based advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, income diversification, CSO management and technical topics covered through the EU's MIP.
Advising CSOs and District Local Governments on how to improve participation of CSOs in development processes including the use of digital formats.
Enabling CSOs to represent the interests of the communities they serve as well as to fulfill their role as independent civil society actors more effectively.
Planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting on activities in line with the mandate of the programme.
Providing advice to CSOS on navigating and complying with regulatory framework and assisting CSOs in understanding legal obligations, including registration, reporting, and operational requirements.

Bachelor's Degree in in Law, Political Science, Social Science or Development Studies or a related field.
Professional Experience
4 years professional experience in organisational development and civil society participation.
4 years working experience with civil society organisations and governmental institutions.
Experience and/or ability to work in an intercultural team.
Experience in qualitative and quantitative research, data collection and data analysis.
