Job Description
The Optometrist will report to the Chief Medical Director and collaborate closely with the Ophthalmology unit to provide comprehensive vision assessments and treatments. Responsibilities include performing routine and advanced eye exams, prescribing lenses, providing patient education on visual hygiene, and supporting clinical operations. The position also requires maintaining accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and assisting with the supervision of junior staff when necessary.

How to Apply
Conduct thorough eye examinations and visual assessments using advanced diagnostic equipment
Prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses based on test results
Educate patients on eye care practices and preventive visual health
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with hospital policies
Collaborate with the Consultant Ophthalmologist on complex cases and treatment plans
Apply vision therapy techniques where necessary
Monitor and guide junior staff in patient care practices
Support clinical operations to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality eye care
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from a recognized institution
Valid practicing license from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria
NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC clinical experience
Excellent problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
Proficiency in the use of computer systems and electronic patient record software
Must reside in Asaba or be willing to relocate
A team-oriented mindset and willingness to go the extra mile
Additional qualifications such as primaries in Family Medicine are an added advantage
