About the Organisation
Katakwi District was created and became a District in 1997 through the Act of Parliament. The District was curved out of Soroti District in 1997 and in July 2005, Amuria District was curved out of Katakwi District. The Council was therefore empowered by the Local Government Act 1997 to consolidate and streamline the previous administrative structure to give effect to decentralization and devolve functions, power and services to lower councils. Section 7, sub-section 2 of the Local Government Act 1997, specifically gave Local Government to Katakwi District. This therefore implied that Katakwi District Local Government was mandated to implement and consolidate the decentralization processes through prioritization of development projects, plan resources identification and allocation. This plan therefore provides the necessary policy guidelines and general direction for the Local Government for the development of Katakwi District for the next five years through the period 2015/16 – 2019/20

JOB ADVERTISEMENT NO. I OF 2024
Applications are invited from the suitably qualified Ugandans for the posts available in Katakwi District Local Government. The applications must be submitted in triplicate on PS NO.3 (2008) to the Office of Principal Human Resource Officer, District Service Commission P.O BOX 74 Katakwi, to be received not later than Monday 11th March, 2024 at 5.00 PM.
The Applications are Obtainable free of charge from any District Service Commission Offices Countrywide or Public Service Commission Offices, 2nd floor Farmers' House, Parliament Avenue Kampala
Application forms should bear titles as well as the Reference numbers specified against the vacancy and the Telephone Contact. Applicants should attach Certified copies from examining bodies and awarding institutions like 0 and A level certificates should by certified by UNEB (Certified copies on blue original ink not photocopies of certified) of their O' Level & A' Level certificates, certificates plus Diplomas and Degrees then CVs, Birth certificates and recent passport size photographs to each form. Qualifications from the recognised Awarding Institutions shall only be considered. The Job Descriptions and Persons Specifications for the posts declared below can be obtained from the Ministry of Public Service and Katakwi District Local Government websites respectively on: www.publicservice.go.ug or www.psc.go.ug and www.katakwi.co.ug and then Katakwi District Service Notice Boards.
