Job Description
The Medical Laboratory Technician will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures essential for accurate diagnosis and patient care. The role requires adherence to professional standards and protocols, ensuring high-quality laboratory operations. The successful candidate will conduct specimen collection, processing, and analysis, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines. This position demands professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining updated licensing.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures
Collect, prepare, and process clinical specimens
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
Record and report test results accurately and timely
Ensure adherence to safety, quality control, and regulatory standards
Keep laboratory areas clean, organized, and compliant with health protocols
Maintain updated professional certification and licenses
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support diagnostic processes
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Medical Laboratory Technician qualification with an updated MLT license
1 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in a medical laboratory setting
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety standards
Ability to work accurately under supervision and within a team
Good organizational and record-keeping skills
Commitment to professional ethics and continuous development
