Job Title

Marketing Analyst job at International University of East Africa

Job Description

Conduct ad-hoc analysis and research projects as requested by management or stakeholders. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to address specific business challenges or opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to gather data on consumer demographics, preferences, trends, and competitors. Analyze market conditions and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Data Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze marketing data using statistical techniques and software tools. Interpret data to derive actionable insights and recommendations for marketing strategies and campaigns.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and track the performance of marketing campaigns, initiatives, and channels. Measure key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ROI, conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and campaign effectiveness.

  • Customer Segmentation: Segment customer databases based on demographic, behavioral, and psychographic factors. Develop targeted marketing strategies and personalized messaging for different customer segments.

  • Competitive Analysis: Analyze competitors' marketing strategies, tactics, and messaging. Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis) to inform strategic decision-making and differentiate the company's offerings.

  • Marketing Strategy Development: Assist in developing marketing strategies and plans based on market insights, consumer behavior, and business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.

  • Forecasting and Predictive Modeling: Use statistical methods and forecasting techniques to predict future market trends, customer behavior, and sales performance. Develop models to optimize marketing budgets and resource allocation.

  • Report Generation: Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and visualizations summarizing marketing performance, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, management, and clients.

  • Data Management: Maintain marketing databases, data quality, and integrity. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and best practices for data security.

  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc analysis and research projects as requested by management or stakeholders. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to address specific business challenges or opportunities.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, statistics, economics, mathematics, or a related field is typically required. Advanced degrees (e.g., master's or MBA) may be preferred for senior roles.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential for interpreting marketing data, conducting statistical analysis, and deriving actionable insights.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and Microsoft Excel is important. Knowledge of database querying languages (e.g., SQL) and CRM systems is a plus.

  • Market Research Skills: Experience in market research methodologies, survey design, data collection techniques, and qualitative research methods is beneficial.

  • Marketing Knowledge: Understanding of marketing principles, concepts, and strategies. Familiarity with digital marketing channels (e.g., SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) is advantageous.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for presenting findings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and influencing decision-making.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills are required to analyze complex marketing challenges, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions.

  • Attention to Detail: A keen attention to detail is essential for ensuring accuracy in data analysis, reporting, and interpretation.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, interact with stakeholders from various departments, and build positive working relationships.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities, learn new tools and techniques, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in marketing analytics.
