Position: Manager, Project Development and Management
Salary Range: UGX 3,000,000 – 5,000,000

Job Summary:
The Manager of Project Development and Management will oversee the planning, design, and construction of a multi-purpose center that serves children, youth, women, and men. This center will integrate programs in technical vocational education and training, mentoring, cultural heritage enrichment, spiritual growth, and recreation. The Manager will ensure that the project aligns with the foundation’s mission by promoting eco-friendly practices and addressing the needs of communities in Uganda.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Project Planning and Development
Lead the development and documentation of project plans, objectives, timelines, and budgets for the center.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community needs and ensure alignment with project goals.
Form and oversee working committees to ensure the successful achievement of project goals.
Design and Construction Management
Supervise the design and construction of the center’s infrastructure, including office spaces, residential areas, education hubs, conference facilities, cultural and recreational areas, sports arenas, and agricultural land.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure high-quality execution.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, government agencies, donors, and partners.
Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and successes.
Resource Management
Manage project resources, including personnel, materials, and finances, ensuring efficient use of resources to meet project objectives.
Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and reporting standards.
Program Integration
Collaborate with experts to integrate vocational education, mentoring, cultural enrichment, and recreational programs into the facility.
Monitor program implementation and adjust as needed to ensure the success of the project.
Compliance and Reporting
Ensure that the project complies with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies throughout its lifecycle.
Prepare and submit regular progress, financial, and impact reports to foundation leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
At least 10 years of proven experience in project management, specifically in the construction and development of large-scale, multi-purpose facilities.
Strong leadership and team management experience with a history of delivering successful projects.
Skills:
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and pay attention to detail.
Proficient in project management software and tools.
Solid understanding of budgeting, financial management, and reporting processes.
Knowledge of community development practices related to education, social services, and cultural heritage.
