Job Description
The Manager will lead the Human Resource Management function, ensuring the development and implementation of effective HR policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include managing the recruitment and selection process, overseeing staff training and development programs, implementing performance management systems, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The role also involves advising management on HR matters, handling employee relations issues, and contributing to organizational development initiatives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with best practices and legal requirements.
Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain qualified personnel.
Oversee staff training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, and handle employee relations matters.
Advise management on HR-related issues and contribute to strategic planning.
Manage HR records and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Coordinate employee welfare programs and initiatives.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in human resource management, with at least three (3) years in a managerial position.
Professional Qualifications:
Membership in a recognized HR professional body (e.g., IHRM).
Competencies and Skills:
Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and labor laws.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
Additional Requirements:
Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
