Job Description

The Local Revenue Collection & Inspection Officer will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective management of local revenue streams in the Sector. The incumbent will maintain a current database of taxpayers, engage in awareness campaigns, and conduct fiscal inspections to support compliance with tax laws and timely recovery of dues.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and regularly update the Sector-level taxpayer database

  • Monitor taxpayer compliance and tax clearance status

  • Organize community mobilization campaigns to raise awareness of tax laws and obligations

  • Conduct regular fiscal inspections to detect non-compliance and enforce tax recovery procedures

  • Collaborate with relevant authorities to strengthen local revenue collection

  • Report on revenue collection progress and challenges to the Executive Secretary

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Secretary

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field

Experience:

  • No prior experience required; entry-level candidates are welcome

Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of tax regulations and revenue collection procedures

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Computer literacy, especially in data entry and financial reporting tools

  • Integrity, responsibility, and high attention to detail

  • Ability to engage with community members and enforce regulations tactfully
