About the Organisation
UMA SACCO LTD, is a Savings and Cooperative Society for Medical Doctors in Uganda which was established by a resolution of U.M.A AGM of June 2011 in line with the cooperative society CAP 112 and the cooperative society regulations 1993 with a vision of “A highly ethical and socio-economically empowered society of medical doctors in Uganda”
It was registered on the 12 th November, 2012 as a Credit and Cooperative Society by the Registrar of Cooperatives under the Ministry of trade Industry and Cooperatives.
UMA SACCO is Member owned, Member governed and member controlled organization by Ugandan Doctors Who Voluntarily subscribe for its membership to access opportunities for economic empowerment, improved welfare and elevated social and economic status in society.
The SACCO members are also registered members of U.M.A (Uganda Medical Association). UMA SACCO has grown from 23 members in June 2012 to more than 800 members in June 2020 with a portfolio of over 5 billion, savings of over 3 billion and a share capital of over 800 million.The UMA SACCO has helped members in accessing affordable credit services, land, collective investment which has greatly led to socio economic empowerment of her members.

Job Description
Develop and maintain effective and cost-effective policies and procedures to achieve target portfolio size while managing credit risk.
Duties and Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES
Develop and maintain effective and cost-effective policies and procedures to achieve target portfolio size while managing credit risk.
Set credit management policies and procedures to ensure that loans are granted based on technical criteria and that follow-up on late payment is prompt and effective.
Oversee training and information dissemination to ensure that creditstaff understands policies and procedures.
Oversee loan approval processes to achieve agreed-upon targets.
Propose allocation of loan funds according to available products
Ensure that the SACCO approves loans on the basis of existing policies and procedures.
Ensure proper scrutiny and preparation of loan applications and agreements and repayment schedules.
Sample check the accuracy of interest calculation on loans and act upon discrepancies discovered.
Arrange Credit Sub-Committee meetings and guide the sub-committee to approve loans based on policies and procedures.
Report on the loan portfolio
Ensure delinquent loan recovery processes meet targets.
Follow up on overdue loans and debts for proper recoveries.
Oversee those late payments are followed up promptly andeffectively.

Qualifications and Competencies
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related field.
At least two years of experience in microfinance, banking or lending institutions.
Knowledge of credit analysis, risk management and loan administration.
Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office, Excel and accounting software.
Fluency in English and Swahili languages.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
High integrity, honesty and professionalism.
