Inspecting Equipment: Conducting regular inspections of lifting equipment such as cranes, hoists, slings, shackles, and lifting attachments to ensure they are in good working condition and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
Testing Equipment: Performing load tests and other necessary tests to verify the capacity and integrity of lifting equipment. This may involve using specialized testing equipment and following established procedures.
Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of inspections, tests, and any maintenance or repairs performed on lifting equipment. Proper documentation is essential for regulatory compliance and tracking the history of equipment.
Identifying Hazards: Identifying potential hazards associated with lifting operations and equipment, such as mechanical defects, wear and tear, or improper usage. Reporting any identified hazards and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Providing Guidance: Offering guidance and advice to personnel involved in lifting operations regarding safe practices, proper use of equipment, and compliance with regulations and standards.
Compliance Monitoring: Monitoring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to lifting operations and equipment. This may involve staying updated on changes in regulations and ensuring that equipment meets the required standards.
Training: Providing training to personnel involved in lifting operations on topics such as equipment use, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. This helps ensure that everyone involved is knowledgeable about safe practices and legal obligations.
Investigating Incidents: Investigating any incidents or accidents involving lifting equipment to determine the cause and prevent recurrence. This may involve conducting root cause analysis, reviewing procedures, and implementing corrective actions.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring that lifting equipment meets quality standards and specifications. This may involve inspecting new equipment before it is put into service and conducting quality control checks during manufacturing or maintenance processes.
Communication: Communicating effectively with stakeholders including management, maintenance personnel, operators, and regulatory authorities regarding inspection findings, compliance issues, and safety concerns.

Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma or above.
EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years of lifting inspection experience
Experience in oil and gas is an added advantage
KNOWLEDGE
A minimum of 3 LEEA Diploma certificates, which includes: LEEA 1, LEEA 2, LEEA 3 and LEEA 4.
Good sense of Engineering inspection judgement with certificates and experience in diverse NDT techniques, especially MPI.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of lifting industry standards, such as BS EN ISO 10855, BS EN 13414-1&2, BS EN 1677- 1,2,3,4; BS 7121-1,2,3, etc.
CAPABILITY
Have similar working experience in international projects.
Frequent travel or site base required according to project arrangements.
Good health is required.
The inspector should be willing to travel to remote inspection site
