Job Description

The Legal Specialist - Mid-Level will be part of the Associate Relations Practices (ARP) department, providing legal and administrative support on various employment law topics. This hybrid role requires someone with a legal background and excellent organizational and communication skills. The position involves collaboration with Human Resources, in-house counsel, and other departments to manage immigration issues, subpoenas, labor communications, and more. This is a 5+ month contract role with potential for extension or permanent hire.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Administer I-9 forms, E-Verify, and handle related immigration compliance issues.

  • Route subpoenas and external requests for information to appropriate departments.

  • Liaise with state labor agencies on employment-related matters.

  • Conduct legal research on employment-related topics including wage laws, labor laws, ADA, and criminal code.

  • Execute various tasks and projects as assigned by the ARP department.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Law degree required.

  • Detail-oriented and well-organized self-starter.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently or collaboratively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for explaining legal concepts.

  • High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

  • Experience in HR, employment law, immigration law, or related government agencies preferred but not required.
