Duties and Responsibilities:

The Employee’s duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:

• Draft and review contracts entered into by the Company in its operations including but not limited to procurement of goods, services and engagement with partners.

• Provide legal advice/opinions and draft responses to notices of intention to sue the company from customers, employees and any other stakeholders.

• Review investigation reports, enquiries and internal audit findings and make recommendations for appropriate legal action to redress/safeguard the company.

• Support Management in monitoring and reporting compliance with Company policies and procedures and laws of Uganda.

• Conduct legal research and provide legal advice and guidance for proactive compliance of the Company with new legislation and best practices impacting the operating environment.

• Provide legal services to support business operations in accordance with company policies procedures and the law.

• Represent the company in courts of law and any other fora in liaison with the external lawyers.

• Liaising with external lawyers on company matters

• Draft and review agreements, legal documents and Memorandums of Understanding.

• Participate in recovery of written off and bad loans.

• Provide legal support to the company’s debt Recovery Strategy and follow-up police cases in liaison with collection and recovery officers

• Draft contract and service level agreements for company engagements

• Prepare and submit monthly reports to the supervisor

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
