Job Description
Lira University was established as a Public University by Statutory Instrument No.35, of July 18th 2015 to expand access to equitable quality Higher Education in the country and to respond to the critical Human Resource Development needs of the country. The University is governed by the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 as amended 2006 of the Republic of Uganda. The University is located in Lango Sub-region in Northern Uganda, Lira City. In order to fulfill the current mandate and to position the University to assist local community and build their capacity for socio economic enhancement, the university has to fill positions with personnel with required skills and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and conduct seminars in the field of Internal Medicine.
Supervise and mentor students in their clinical rotations and research projects.
Contribute to curriculum development and the advancement of the department’s academic programs.
Conduct and publish scholarly research in reputable medical journals.
Participate in community service and outreach programs relevant to Internal Medicine.

Qualifications and Competencies
A Master’s degree or higher in Internal Medicine or a closely related medical field.
Clinical experience in Internal Medicine, with a preference for candidates who have teaching experience.
A record of research and publications in the field of Internal Medicine is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
A commitment to academic excellence and the professional development of students.
