Job Description
Job Title: Lead, Operations Control
Location: Uganda

Job Purpose
Serve as an internal advisor to the business to safeguard the Bank’s assets through effective operational risk management and control systems. Support the delivery of independent assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls across the organization by executing assessments, identifying potential risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Act as a first line of defense by proactively identifying and assessing operational and compliance risks.
Execute regular control assurance assessments and walkthroughs to validate the effectiveness of controls across business operations.
Conduct operational checks in line with a scheduled plan to ensure adherence to established procedures and risk parameters.
Collaborate with business units to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Group policies, and minimum operating procedures.
Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of routine controls, especially in relation to new product or business development.
Provide timely and detailed reporting on key control indicators, trends, exceptions, and operational incidents.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure risks and controls are effectively identified, evaluated, and mitigated.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification in Accounting or Internal Controls (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CISA) is an added advantage.
3–4 years of relevant experience in banking operations with strong knowledge of risk and control environments.
Demonstrated ability to understand and navigate complex financial processes.
