Job Description
The Junior Service Advisor plays a key role in ensuring smooth communication between the service department and customers. Responsibilities include creating and managing job cards, advising customers on service requirements, allocating work to technicians, tracking repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position also involves workshop planning, ensuring timely completion of repairs, and keeping customers informed about service progress. The ideal candidate must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Welcome customers, demonstrate personal interest, and listen attentively to their concerns
Accurately complete and manage job cards with customer requirements
Confirm and have customers agree to repair scope, cost, and completion time
Allocate work daily/weekly and utilize the workshop planning board effectively
Monitor repair order progress and maintain close follow-up with technicians
Maintain communication with parts department to ensure parts availability
Keep customers updated on repair progress and inform them when the vehicle is ready
Ensure technicians' time worked and sold is accurately captured
Handle warranty and product improvement programs promptly
Inspect repaired vehicles for cleanliness and proper function
Clearly explain repair work to the customer and accompany them to make payment
Maintain low Work in Progress (WIP) and resolve customer complaints professionally
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Minimum: Grade 12
Ideal: Automotive apprenticeship
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
Skills and Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong problem-solving and comprehension skills
