Job Description
Job Title: IT Officer
Organisation: Aldelia Uganda
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reporting to the ICT MANAGER administratively, the ICT Officer will be responsible for providing first line help desk support to Hass Petroleum Employees and users who have partnered with the Company. The officer will also be required to report functionally to the Country Manager.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Providing first line technical support, answering support queries via phone, email and in person.
Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and resolving software/hardware faults.
Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
Carrying out routine software and hardware maintenance, Servicing and fixing ICT equipment and maintaining an IT asset register.
Support users in the use of computer equipment, Oracle Application, Microsoft Application, Avaya Systems and any other applications used at Hass Petroleum.
Assist with the maintenance of CCTV system.
Assist with the maintenance of printing equipment.
Assist with the management of Active Directory system.
Tracking work in progress, recording issues and solutions.
Participating in testing of applications.
Liaising with ICT staff and help in establishing ICT user support knowledge base.
Assisting ICT Manager in reviewing user rights.
Assisting ICT Manager with the implementation of Hass Petroleum projects as required.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A degree in Computer Science or equivalent education from a recognized University.
IT support and experience in customer service of 2 years minimum.
Help Desk service skills
Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
A+ Certification is an added advantage
Ability to work long hours in the evenings and over weekends
Working hours, patterns and environment
40 hours a week. In some cases, occasional shift work, including evenings and weekends may be required.
