Job Description
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Inventory Management Associate is responsible for day-to-day inventory operations, ensuring proper inventory transactions, stock availability, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The role includes conducting stock audits, forecasting demand, organizing storage systems, and maintaining data accuracy in inventory management systems. The Associate will also support budget planning and execution, lead a team, and contribute to continuous process improvements for inventory efficiency.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
Oversee unloading, receipt, and inspection of delivered goods and equipment
Monitor, record, and reconcile inventory transactions in the system
Conduct regular cycle counts and support full audits
Forecast inventory demands in coordination with operational and purchasing teams
Organize storage areas for efficient space and material handling
Label/tag inventory and maintain a clean and safe warehouse
Generate and analyze periodic inventory reports
Ensure safety compliance with Genser policies
Recommend improvements to inventory tracking and control systems
Budgeting:
Assist in preparing monthly budgets and cost forecasting
Monitor budget alignment with scheduled departmental activities
Support cost control efforts and manage expenditures
Organizational Development:
Supervise and guide team members to meet project deadlines
Conduct staff performance appraisals and development plans
Manage leave schedules and team coordination
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, Engineering, or related field (mandatory)
Multicultural experience is an added advantage
Proficiency in French or Chinese is a plus
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of inventory management experience, preferably in a heavy engineering or Oil & Gas company
Experience with inventory software such as Sage, SAP, or QuickBooks
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Competencies:
Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proven ability to manage inventory in a dynamic work environment
