Job Description
Successful candidates will assist in agricultural research projects, perform routine and physical activities under supervision, collect and capture data, and help in planting and evaluating field and glasshouse trials. Interns may also coordinate fieldwork activities and supervise temporary workers when required. Compliance with safety procedures and regular feedback to supervisors are essential components of this role. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates with a passion for field-based research.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of agricultural research projects
Perform routine and physical activities in the field and glasshouse
Coordinate field activities and supervise temporary workers if needed
Provide diagnostics and research support services
Collect, capture, and maintain accurate data under supervision
Assist with planting, maintenance, and evaluation of trials
Regularly report on work progress verbally and in writing
Adhere to health, safety, and risk protocols at all times

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma in Agriculture with specialization in Crop Science, Soil Science, or Agronomy
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Valid driver's license
Willingness and physical ability to work long hours in the field
Added Advantage:
Experience in conducting agricultural field trials
Strong willingness to learn and adapt
