Job Description
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the ICT Officer – Infrastructure will oversee the operational integrity of ICT infrastructure, including server administration, cloud systems, data backup, disaster recovery, and IT security compliance. This role involves support of MESPT's core applications and services, user account administration, system access management, technical troubleshooting, training, and collaboration in digital transformation initiatives.
The officer will also enforce compliance with ISO 27001 and the Data Protection Act, manage IT assets and licenses, coordinate change management, and ensure continuity of ICT services through proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and user support.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain and monitor MESPT’s information systems (servers, databases, Microsoft 365, financial and administrative systems).
Administer access control, security policies, and audit trails in compliance with internal ICT frameworks.
Enforce ISO 27001 and legal data protection standards.
Ensure regular data backups and disaster recovery testing.
Support remote users and mobile device configurations.
Resolve helpdesk support tickets and user issues efficiently.
Collaborate on programme digitization and IT projects.
Conduct user training and develop user guides.
Perform system upgrades, installations, and patch rollouts.
Manage IT hardware and software licenses.
Oversee secure access systems (CCTV, biometric access, IP telephony).
Perform root cause analysis and preventative troubleshooting.
Coordinate system decommissioning, role assignment, and change requests.
Travel to remote sites for support and system installations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related IT field
Certifications in Office 365 Administration, Windows Server Hybrid Administration
Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP
VMware Certified Professional preferred
Experience
Minimum 7 years in systems administration or ICT infrastructure in a busy IT environment
Skills and Competencies
Strong expertise in domain management and Active Directory
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Windows Server
Knowledge in MS SQL Server, VMware, LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches
Familiarity with TCP/IP, OSI Model, IT Helpdesk systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
High integrity, professionalism, and willingness to learn
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Must be available full-time
