International Center for Research on Women (ICRW)
CRW is seeking an intern for a period of three months. The intern will be stationed at any of the ICRW Africa offices in Kenya or Uganda. He/ She will build knowledge about ICRW’s topic areas of interest and gain increased understanding of academic and programmatic research evidence on these issues. The intern will be required to join team meetings, plan and attend events and contribute to projects that align with the team’s interests.
The intern will work closely with researchers in the ICRW Africa program to support implementation project activities. The intern will also be required to support any other relevant work as may be assigned.
ICRW shall pay a modest monthly stipend to the intern for the period of internship.
Responsibilities:
The Intern will support ICRW Project Implementation as follows:
Provide technical support in development of research proposals/ protocols, study tools etc.
Support in conducting literature searches/ reviews.
Provide technical support for quality implementation of research activities as shall be assigned.
Support in field data collection (qualitative and quantitative) and management.
Data transcription, entry, cleaning, coding, and analysis.
Support project documentation and learning (technical writing of study findings, learning information and publications; knowledge management).
Provide administrative assistance to projects (e.g., planning for project meetings, webinars, taking minutes, etc.)
Assist in other tasks within ICRW Africa portfolio as needed.

Education:
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with a university degree in Social Sciences, Law, Economics, Gender Studies, or related fields. The incumbent should have knowledge and skills in basic research and demonstrate interest in deepening knowledge in gender mainstreaming work.
Preferred knowledge, skills and qualifications:
High commitment and openness to learning and undertaking gender research and work.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing work demands and priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
University graduate willing to commit time to the internship for at least 3 continuous months.
