Job Description
The HRIS Analyst plays a critical role in overseeing HR systems functionality and data accuracy. The role involves analyzing and extracting complex HR data, identifying patterns, and making recommendations for system and process enhancements. The analyst will ensure system compliance with data privacy and security, oversee updates and upgrades to HR software, and support reporting and audit requirements. Responsibilities include collaborating with third-party vendors, managing interface files, supporting employee benefits compliance, and maintaining accurate and secure data records. The HRIS Analyst also assists with federal and state filings and enhances benefits enrollment processes. This position requires excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and system management skills.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure system compliance with data security and privacy laws
Manage HRIS infrastructure, including database management and upgrades
Analyze current system usage and recommend improvements
Conduct regular audits and generate reports to maintain data integrity
Work with vendors to install, modify, or upgrade HR systems
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for HR staff
Coordinate with HR and other departments for data audits and integrity checks
Maintain audit trails and documentation
Support benefits team with compliance (e.g., EEO-1, ACA, 401(k) testing, etc.)
Reconcile benefits invoices and ensure appropriate coverage
Maintain accurate benefit cost entries and support external/internal audits
Identify system improvements and cost-saving opportunities
Manage interface files and data transmission accuracy
Respond to reporting requests and support ad hoc analysis projects
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in HR Information Technology or related field required; Master’s preferred
Minimum 3 years of HR project management or related HRIS experience
SHRM-CP certification is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Expert knowledge of HRIS and report creation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Skilled in data analytics, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organization
Demonstrated critical thinking and initiative to improve systems
