Job Description

The Head of Operations will be accountable for supervising Pride's Backoffice operational functions including branch operations. He/she will also ensure that operational processes are in compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies while optimizing efficiency and cost control.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Working closely with senior management to develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.

  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve workflows, and enhance operational efficiency. Implementing best practices and methodologies to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.

  • Resource Management: Managing human, financial, and technological resources to support business operations effectively. This includes workforce planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

  • Quality Control: Establishing and monitoring quality control measures to ensure products or services meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Implementing quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Supply Chain Management: Overseeing the end-to-end supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished products or services to customers. Managing vendor relationships, inventory levels, and logistics to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.

  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. This may include operational risks, supply chain disruptions, regulatory compliance issues, and cybersecurity threats.

  • Health and Safety: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers. Implementing policies and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.

  • Customer Service: Collaborating with customer service teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer inquiries, complaints, and issues. Monitoring customer satisfaction metrics and implementing improvements to enhance the customer experience.

  • Technology Integration: Leveraging technology to streamline operations, improve data visibility, and enhance decision-making processes. Implementing and optimizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, automation tools, and digital solutions.

  • Performance Monitoring: Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and track progress towards goals. Analyzing performance metrics and making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • A bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, business administration, economics, statistics, mathematics, management, or similar relevant business-related fields.

  • Possession of a banking, accounting or finance certification or a master's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in supervised financial services institutions with at least five (05) years at a senior management level. Relevant practical training in banking operations.

  • Knowledge of regulatory framework of supervised financial institutions, operating systems, and project management.

  • Experience in business continuity management and development of business recovery plans.
