Curriculum Development and Implementation:

• Designing, developing, and overseeing the English curriculum to ensure it meets academic standards and aligns with educational goals.

• Reviewing and updating syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching materials to reflect current best practices and changes in literature, language, and pedagogy.

Monitoring and Improving Teaching Standards:

• Observing and evaluating the teaching practices of English department staff, providing feedback, and ensuring high teaching standards.

• Mentoring and supporting teachers in the department, helping them develop professionally and improve their teaching methods.

Assessment and Evaluation:

• Overseeing the design and administration of assessments, such as exams, essays, and coursework, to evaluate student performance.

• Ensuring that assessments are fair, consistent, and accurately measure students' knowledge, skills, and progress.

Staff Management and Development:

• Leading and managing the English department team, which may include hiring, training, and supporting teachers.

• Conducting performance appraisals, setting objectives, and providing opportunities for professional development and training.

Facilitating department meetings to discuss curriculum planning, teaching strategies, and student performance.
