Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Agency Officer of PAUL, the Head of Agency Development, will be responsible for driving the agency development function in the business. He/she will be responsible for meeting key business metrics of Manpower (number of agents), active agents, new business, premium income, annualised premium equiva lent (APE), gross written premiums/collections, persistency, product mix, new business profit (NBP) targets and growing number of millionaires.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales representatives are responsible for selling products or services to customers, managing client relationships, and driving revenue for their company. Their key duties include:

  • Identifying Potential Clients: Researching and prospecting new clients or customers by identifying leads through various channels like networking, referrals, or cold calling.

  • Product Demonstrations and Presentations: Explaining the features and benefits of products or services to potential clients through meetings, presentations, or demonstrations.

  • Negotiating Sales Contracts: Engaging in negotiations regarding pricing, terms, and contracts to close sales and ensure mutual agreement.

  • Maintaining Client Relationships: Building and nurturing long-term relationships with customers, addressing their needs, and providing post-sale support.

  • Achieving Sales Targets: Meeting or exceeding sales goals set by the company, tracking personal and team progress, and adjusting strategies accordingly.

  • Preparing Sales Reports: Keeping records of sales activities, including leads, conversions, revenue, and customer feedback to report to management.

  • Attending Trade Shows and Conferences: Representing the company at industry events to network and generate leads.

  • Collaborating with Other Departments: Working with marketing, customer service, and product development teams to align sales efforts and improve customer satisfaction.

  • Handling Objections and Queries: Addressing customer concerns or questions and providing solutions to help close deals.

  • Staying Updated on Industry Trends: Keeping up with market trends, competitor activities, and product knowledge to better serve customers and refine sales strategies

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in a business administration related field, or equivalent from a recognized University.

  • Possession of a professional qualification in insurance or in progress towards attaining it.

  • Minimum of 8 years work experience in the insurance or financial industry.

  • Sales experience in agency management or related field

  • Stakeholder relationship management skills

  • People development skills

  • Organizational and effective execution skills

  • Ability to successfully work in a high activity, fast paced environment

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good track record of management skills

  • Good reporting skills
