Newrest Uganda Inflight Services Limited

S/He will be working under the procurement Manager. S/He will be responsible to perform the following tasks under the supervision of the Procurement Manager and the Unit Manager

  • To supervise and implement the whole procurement process and all procurement procedures.

  • To receive and process the Internal Procurement Requests.

  • To implement the competitive bidding process.

  • To finalize LPOs

  • To ensure proper and timely execution of LPOs by suppliers

  • To closely watch and monitor local commodity markets and regularly update the prices as they are in the market

  • Ensure competent quality execution of all regular purchasing duties and administrative works.

  • Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.

  • Purchase and issue order in accordance with specification.

  • Monitor and co-ordinate deliveries of items between suppliers (local and overseas).

  • Prepare reports and summarize data including sales report and book value.

  • Schedule store visits and conduct competitor survey.

  • Coordinate with user departments and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned.

  • Assist in managing and following up overseas orders.

  • Monitor and co-ordinate deliveries of items between suppliers to ensure that all items are delivered to site/store on time.

  • Responsible for the preparation and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Source for new parts, suppliers or sub-contractors when the need arises.

  • Plan and manage inventory levels of materials or products.

  • Negotiate for best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, term, delivery and service) with suppliers and sub-contractors assigned.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Purchase and issue order in accordance with specification.

  • To create and then maintain and update a complete and detailed database of existing and alternative suppliers

  • Working closely with Stores Dept. to ensure optimum levels of inventory/stock; avoid over- or under stocking
