Job Description

A GESI Researcher / Expert at Aleph Strategies is responsible for conducting research and analysis on gender equality and social inclusion issues in various sectors and contexts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • A GESI Researcher / Expert at Aleph Strategies is responsible for conducting research and analysis on gender equality and social inclusion issues in various sectors and contexts. The GESI Researcher / Expert also provides technical guidance and support to project teams and partners on integrating GESI principles and practices into their activities and outputs. Some of the main duties of a GESI Researcher / Expert include:

  • Developing and implementing GESI research methodologies and tools, such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, case studies, etc.

  • Collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data and information on GESI issues, challenges, opportunities, and best practices from various sources

  • Preparing and delivering high-quality GESI research reports, briefs, presentations, and other products for internal and external audiences

  • Providing GESI-related inputs and feedback to project proposals, work plans, budgets, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, etc.

  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, donors, partners, beneficiaries, etc.

  • Participating in GESI-related trainings, workshops, events, and networks to enhance knowledge and skills


Qualifications and Competencies

  • We’re looking for a motivated individual with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in gender, equity and social inclusion (GESI) research in one or more of the following countries: Central African Republic, Benin, Burkina Faso, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Timor-Leste, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Georgia, Ukraine, The Bahamas, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, United States, and Venezuela. Fluency in English is a must and proficiency in additional languages such as French, Spanish and/or Arabic is a plus!
