Job Description
A GESI Researcher / Expert at Aleph Strategies is responsible for conducting research and analysis on gender equality and social inclusion issues in various sectors and contexts.
Duties and Responsibilities
A GESI Researcher / Expert at Aleph Strategies is responsible for conducting research and analysis on gender equality and social inclusion issues in various sectors and contexts. The GESI Researcher / Expert also provides technical guidance and support to project teams and partners on integrating GESI principles and practices into their activities and outputs. Some of the main duties of a GESI Researcher / Expert include:
Developing and implementing GESI research methodologies and tools, such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, case studies, etc.
Collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data and information on GESI issues, challenges, opportunities, and best practices from various sources
Preparing and delivering high-quality GESI research reports, briefs, presentations, and other products for internal and external audiences
Providing GESI-related inputs and feedback to project proposals, work plans, budgets, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, etc.
Building and maintaining effective relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, donors, partners, beneficiaries, etc.
Participating in GESI-related trainings, workshops, events, and networks to enhance knowledge and skills
Qualifications and Competencies
We’re looking for a motivated individual with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in gender, equity and social inclusion (GESI) research in one or more of the following countries: Central African Republic, Benin, Burkina Faso, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Timor-Leste, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Georgia, Ukraine, The Bahamas, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, United States, and Venezuela. Fluency in English is a must and proficiency in additional languages such as French, Spanish and/or Arabic is a plus!
