Job Description
The General Worker (Driver’s Assistant) will support the driver during deliveries by loading and off-loading products safely and following proper procedures. This role involves ensuring damaged stock is not delivered, maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle, assisting in stock picking and stacking, and verifying that the correct stock is handled. The worker will also identify and report health and safety hazards and assist with any other related duties to support efficient delivery services.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Load and off-load products to suppliers and customers according to procedures
Ensure no damaged stock is delivered and manage load returns
Support the driver during trips and verify documentation before delivery
Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle
Assist with stock picking and stacking
Ensure correct stock is off-loaded at the right locations
Identify health and safety hazards and implement corrective actions
Perform other reasonable duties related to the role

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
National Senior Certificate (NQF4) or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and PDP advantageous but not mandatory
Proven relevant work experience
Knowledge of Montego products is a plus
Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills
