Job Description
The General Manager will act as the face of the hotel, leading all operational departments to achieve financial, operational, and customer service goals. Responsibilities include strategic planning and execution, staff management and training, budgeting and cost control, marketing, and compliance. The role involves direct engagement with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and board members. The General Manager will ensure that the property upholds the highest standards of hospitality service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. Additionally, the position demands leadership in capital projects and maintenance activities, and regular reporting on operational and strategic goals to the Board of Directors.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the hotel team to meet annual budgets, profit targets, and growth objectives
Oversee daily operations across all departments to ensure service excellence
Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue
Monitor and control financial performance, including P&L, budgeting, and forecasting
Recruit, train, evaluate, and manage staff, fostering a performance-driven culture
Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and health and safety regulations
Oversee refurbishment, maintenance, and capital projects
Represent the hotel at industry events and to key stakeholders
Prepare operational, financial, and strategic reports for the Board
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field
Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior hospitality management role in a high-end hotel
International hospitality experience preferred
Strong leadership and team management skills
Solid knowledge of P&L, budgeting, and forecasting
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
High level of integrity, detail orientation, and problem-solving ability
Ability to handle pressure, change, and complex operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality management systems
