Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Garage Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our vehicle fleet and garage facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in automotive mechanics, and a commitment to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our fleet.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance: Manage the maintenance, repair, and servicing of the company's vehicle fleet, including trucks, vans, and other specialized vehicles, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
Workshop Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations of the garage facilities, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation, to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures and standard operating procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and safety in vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of spare parts, tools, and equipment inventory, and oversee procurement and replenishment activities to support ongoing maintenance operations.
Budget Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to vehicle maintenance, workplace safety, and environmental protection.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization, workflow efficiency, and technology integration to enhance the performance and capabilities of the garage operations

Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a related field; professional certification or diploma in automotive mechanics preferred.
Proven experience in automotive fleet management, with a minimum of (4) years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures, with hands-on experience in automotive maintenance and troubleshooting.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals to achieve common goals.
Proficiency in workshop management software, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and Microsoft Office suite.
Sound understanding of health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and best practices in automotive maintenance and workplace management.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
