Job Description
The Fundraising General Manager will manage Fresh Life ’s Business Development team and spearhead efforts to meet institutional fundraising targets. The successful candidate will lead end-to-end proposal development, ensure effective funder engagement and reporting, maintain high-quality internal fundraising systems, and drive continuous improvement. They will play a pivotal role in aligning internal teams to strategic funding priorities and contribute to the organization’s scaling ambitions through impactful partnerships.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee the development of proposals, budgets, log frames, and narratives
Guide the Business Development team on aligning proposals to donor priorities and organizational goals
Review and mitigate risks in contracts and grant agreements
Coordinate internal stakeholders to align on fundraising strategy
Funder and Partner Engagement (20%)
Prepare and deliver pitch materials and engagement assets
Track donor engagement through dashboards and tools
Lead engagement events, including strategic meetings and funder calls
Collaborate with Communications to support donor reporting and stewardship
Team Management and Capacity Building (20%)
Manage and mentor the Business Development team
Oversee staffing, team operations, performance reviews, and team development
Promote a strong team culture aligned with Fresh Life’s values
Systems and Process Improvement (15%)
Improve business development systems including CRM tools and databases
Ensure adherence to internal systems and coordinate with the Data team
Innovate with digital and AI tools to streamline proposal processes
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
7–10+ years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, or business development in the development or social enterprise sector
3–5+ years of senior-level leadership experience
Strong experience managing high-performing teams and leading successful proposal submissions
Proven ability to engage institutional donors and philanthropic partners
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with CRM tools and donor reporting systems
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, Business, Economics, or a related field
