Job Description
As a member of the Food & Beverage team, the attendant will set up and break down service areas, serve food and beverages, process guest orders, and handle cashiering tasks where applicable. The role also includes engaging with guests to provide personalized service, promoting upselling opportunities, and ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and hospitality standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain mise-en-place and dining setups for service
Execute setup and breakdown for events and banqueting services
Ensure cleanliness and functionality of service areas and equipment
Take and process food and beverage orders accurately
Explain menu items and upsell promotional offerings
Serve food and drinks in line with quality and presentation standards
Clear tables and conduct cashiering duties
Perform stock checks and report discrepancies
Handle customer complaints and inquiries professionally
Promote loyalty programs and inform guests of facilities and promotions
Comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a waiter, bartender, or in a similar customer service role
Core Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong customer service orientation
Initiative and enthusiasm
Ability to follow procedures and maintain standards
Ability to upsell products
Cashiering and basic computer skills
Food & Beverage product knowledge
Physical fitness and flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
