Job Description
As a Financial Manager, one’s major role is to ensure proper financial control and defined accountability.
A Financial Manager is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial information to facilitate management’s decision making. Provide support by liaising with other departments on all finance matters, budgetary management and control. They are responsible for financial reporting and submission of statutory returns to authorities and ensure that the general finance and accounting operations are carried out in compliance with the relevant legislations.
Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review financial commitments and payments requests to ensure compliance with Plan Policies and procedures.
Process all financial transactions on timely basis.
Prepare and reconcile all bank accounts and booking ledgers on a monthly basis to ensure exceptions are identified and dealt with promptly.
Help in preparation of financial management reports on a monthly basis for decision making.
Perform physical verification of Assets at least twice a year to ensure that all assets are accurately valued and recorded in the assets register.
Prepare monthly payroll and the related statutory returns; and ensure periodic PAYE, NSSF and WHT returns are done to ensure adherence to the Employment Act and Tax Laws.
Monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.
Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile financial transactions through quick books software.
Prepare weekly cash flow statements and controlling expenditures and cash flow.
Assisting with the preparation of year end accounts and statutory accounts like external audit.
Managing and training staff when necessary.
Filling and remitting taxes and other obligations.
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results to Management.
Provide technical support and advice on management.
Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
Identification of the best service providers for better execution of assigned event
Create awareness of the company and look out for potential customers
Must ensure flexibility to do any other duty as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
National Diploma in Accounting and Finance or any related field.
EXPERIENCE
At least three (3) years practical experience in financial management. Working in an events company would be an added advantage. A recommendation letter from a previous workplace and staying near Kampala and Jinja Cities would also be an added advantage.
AGE
The applicant must be 21 - 32 years as at the close of the advert.
