Job Description
The Financial Accountant will be a key member of a dynamic international finance team based in Johannesburg. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, managing tax and compliance functions, handling cash and treasury operations, and supporting the preparation of financial reports and budgets. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and has excellent problem-solving abilities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage Debtors' Reconciliation and oversee the full Debtor’s Cycle including invoicing and age analysis review
Liaise with creditors and suppliers; perform monthly reconciliations
Submit weekly cash flow reports including all bank balances and sales data
Reconcile VAT figures with ledger accounts and income statements
Prepare monthly standing journals such as interest, depreciation, and revaluation
Create and review management accounts
Participate in budget creation by collecting input from management
Manage income and expense accounts
Oversee cash and treasury operations
Ensure tax compliance and manage relevant documentation
Handle financial reporting and create accurate management accounts

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar financial role
SAIPA or newly qualified CA(SA) preferred
Experience in Trade Finance or Financial Services industry
Global or international exposure is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of finance, tax, compliance, and cash management
Proficient in financial software and advanced Excel
